Have you ever felt like things look “fine” on the outside, but inside you’re anxious, overwhelmed, or stuck in patterns you can’t explain? Do relationships that matter most feel tense or distant—no matter how hard you try? Are you navigating shame around sex or intimacy, big life transitions, or the impact of old wounds that won’t stay in the past?
You’re not broken—and you don’t have to do this alone. I help individuals, couples, and families slow down, understand what’s really happening beneath the surface, and create change that actually lasts. Clients describe me as warm, insightful, and easy to talk to. Together, we’ll map what’s going on, build skills that fit your life, and support you to reconnect with yourself, your values, and the people you love.
I work from an affirming, anti-oppressive, trauma-informed, and intersectional lens. In short: you’re the expert on you. My job is to bring evidence-based tools, deep presence, and a steady, compassionate pace so your system can heal.

About Justin
My background spans community clinics, crisis services, and specialized sex and couples therapy centres. I’ve supported people through anxiety, trauma, intimacy concerns, identity exploration, and complex relationship dynamics. I tailor therapy to your needs and pace—whether you move quickly with structured skills or prefer a slower, depth-oriented process.
Even when life is “okay,” it can still feel heavy. Maybe conflict keeps looping, intimacy feels confusing, or your nervous system is on high alert. In our work, we make sense of those patterns with curiosity—not judgment. We’ll use approaches like EFT, IFS, EMDR, and the Gottman Method to help you process what’s stuck, repair connection, and practice new ways of relating that feel safer and more authentic.
Living with Crohn’s disease has taught me a lot about resilience, uncertainty, and caring for both the visible and invisible parts of our experience. That perspective shows up in my therapy: we honour your strength, validate your reality, and build change step by step.
I have a Master’s in Counselling Psychology (Yorkville University) and Honours B.A. in Psychology (University of Guelph). Additionally, I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) in Ontario, Registered Clinical Counsellor in BC (RCC), and Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC). I also have advanced training in Emotion-Focused Therapy, Internal Family Systems, EMDR, and the Gottman Method. Clinical experience across community mental health, crisis response, and sex/couples therapy settings.
More Than Just Work
- Favourite Quote: What if I fall? Oh, but my darling, what if you fly? Fear has a way of making us believe that failure is inevitable, keeping us stuck in old patterns or afraid to take risks. Change is never about being fearless, it’s about embracing the possibility that you might just soar.
- Something Interesting: Living with Crohn’s disease has taught me resilience, patience, and how to navigate uncertainty. It’s shaped the way I approach life—and therapy—by helping me appreciate the strength it takes to face challenges head-on. I know what it’s like to manage both the visible and invisible struggles, and I bring that understanding into my work, creating a space where you don’t have to go through it alone.
- My Peace: I create space for rest without guilt, remind myself that I don’t need to have everything figured out, and practice self-compassion when life feels overwhelming. I also enjoy drawing and cooking new recipes!
